How very apt.

Evening all! Just got back in myself. Looks like I have missed a few pages. Had some good news photography related. :)

The company who recommended me for the recent bar promotion shots have asked me to be their contracted photographer for any events/client work which needs doing. So if any photographic services are needed, I will be the one handling it.

The bar also want me as their resident photographer which I am setting up a 6 month contract to start with is being all sorted out as we speak.

Then my company reg, which will hopefully be Clarity-Rebirth can also be handled for me and also all relevant trademarks can also be handled by the owner of the bar since he is a trademark specialist.

Its still all in talks at the moment till we can formally discuss it all after I have put down my company proposal together etc but already they have landed me some work in Derby (dates are being discussed) where I will be shooting a music producer at his studio and a live event.

I really cannot wait. Hopefully soon, I shall follow in the footsteps of Dan and go fulltime. :)

That's brilliant news! If you need any employees or assitants, I know this really nice bloke called Neal ;)

Great picture, what sort of snake is it? I assume you did not use the 16-35 for that one

Can't remember, 24-105 I think. He's a grass snake and I got pretty darned close, more the 24 end than the 105.

What has been planned? Do I need to make any adjustments to the first post?

Ouch!! Judging by your signature is that a poor 40D exposing its innards? Although I can't see a pop-up flash so it must be a 5D of sorts?? .......... how horrible :(

On a different note, can those of you with Macs try accessing the BBC website and watching any videos on them .... because I can't see any! Embedded video / audio streams, even the iPlayer doesn't work any more! It seemed to directly coincide with upgrading to Safari 4 but I can't access the videos in ANY browser now!

Loved your Katy Perry shots Ian - great work!! :)

Cheers :)

Thats excellent news mate!! Its very liberating to go full time but i have to say i'm finding it very hard to get enough paid work to tread water at the moment. I've got myself involved in quite a few local projects in the community(why i've not been on here much) but these are non paying jobs that will get me a lot of exposure(excuse the pun) in the local area for future paid work.

Were getting by ok but at the moment im finding nobody wants to pay any money for getting pics done..

example:
got a call yesterday from a guy who had been let down by their "pro" who was doing their wedding and said they needed someone last minuteto cover the day for them tomoorrow(saturday) I explained my prices to them and was told they were too expensive and so i agreed at short notice to do the ceremony for £200 instead of my usual £599 as i really need the money so they said ok.. Got a call last night telling me they had found someone else local who would do it for £100 so they no longer need me!

Who the hell is willing to shoot a wedding for £100!!!?? I said good luck and that was that..

Does breaking the rules work sometimes? I like to think it's worth a try. Agree?
