I got burned out on Windows for viruses. So I have moved to Linux about three years ago. I got Ubuntu on my desktop but kept Windows on my laptop. I just have moved to Linux for my laptop also. Is there any good photo program available? GIMP is okay with UFRaw but it is not nearly as good as CS3.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.

If nothing works, I think I will use DPP with Wine.

Thanks for reading. ^^

Have you looked into attempting to run photoshop under wine in ubuntu? http://luiscosio.com …op-cs2-on-ubuntu-10-steps (external link) . I have also read that it can be done by creating a photoshop cs* portable. I haven't tried it yet though since virus' are more due to operator error rather than operating system. The computer doesn't find virus on its own. That all said, when i finally look into a laptop, it will be Ubuntu as it will not be used for my primary gaming, photo, and video editing system. I just love how simple Ubuntu works.

I have tried to install CS4 under wine but it did not work. I ended up using VirtualBox and run XP and installed CS4. No internet connected on XP. I like to use Photoshop over DPP and I do need Camera Raw 5.0 or higher for my G10.
I like to use my computer without virus so I was going to buy a Mac but... I can use Linux on my PC instead of buying a Mac and I can use that money to buy an extra lens.
I am sure that you know how it works...
It is more than fair trade as far as I concern...
