Like it says on the tin, how do I add new fonts to the drop down list in CS4? I've dl'd and unpacked them (thank you DaFont) but can't find a way to select them :(
TIA....

I'm running XP and drop them here: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Fonts.

I think that's the right place.

You need to install the fonts in your operating system before they will be visible in Photoshop. In Windows go to Control Panel > Fonts and click File > Install Fonts to invoke the installation module. Navigate to the location of the font files and click OK. Now open Photoshop and you'll see the fonts.

You should be able to right click on a font file in any folder (that isn't already installed) and I believe there's an option to install it there. For future reference... although I could be wrong

Just to be clear--are we sure that we have to tell windows about our fonts for them to load up on PS? Mine are loading up simply by dropping them in the folder I mention above. Perhaps this is an issue of earlier versions of windows but I was under the impression that the less things we have to install/add to the registry, the better--particularly if we're talking about hundreds of files(fonts).

Putting fonts in that folder (by drag & drop for example) does "install' them.

When using the process I described earlier the location of your fonts become irrelevant; you can choose to store them anywhere rather than place them in a specific folder, i.e. C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Fonts.

Oh woops I missed the actual folder location. Yes if you put them there Windows won't recognize them but Adobe will. My apologies.
