lol .. not all service plans are a scam ..
people associate service plans - warranty to those of Cars where you get 5year extended warranty and it runs simultaneously with the 3year XXmiles warranty the factory gives you and most time the warranty does not cover the stuff that will most likely need repairing because normal wear and tear do to usage ...
4 years BB policy is by far one of the better warranties out there and for those that do not want to spend the extra money hell with it ...
Just funny how many **** about Canon charging 30 bucks for cleaning now a days where in this warranty is cover and for as many times as you want it .. for those that had the mis fortune of not securing the equipment on the tripod and bamb it dropped and broke in two pieces etc etc etc ..
i rarely buy extended warranty on a lot of things but there's those that just make to much sense ...
I'm glad I put extended warranty on my Car battery and I got a service plan on my tires .. it was/is well worth it .. 2 batteries later and countless tire change - rotations - balances - etc later I'm satisfied!
lastly - the only reason I havent moved from a 5D to a 5DII is that service plan - because I still have 3 1/2 years left in it and the 5D already has been discountinue and who knows if a year from now my camera just happen to fall and break and the only replacement is a 5D II .. 
shame to have waste 370+ on such a useless plan!
