Shot these today - reversed Takumar 1.4/50 on a Takumar 1.8/55.
Focusing is difficult, so results have been hit and miss.

A couple I liked from today:

1) f/2.8 1/400 ISO200

2)This one has much less PP, same flower.

Very nice! I like #1 better due to the washed-out effect of your PPing.

Never tried reversing a lens myself, but the shallow DoF is a nightmare isn't it!

Keep at it, and post more....
:D

Both shots have very shallow depth of field (too shallow for my taste).

You probably have some explanation for why you are satisfied with such a shallow depth of field?

Like skygod44 said - it is a nightmare working with the shallow DOF with these reversed lenses.

Robert, I'm not satisfied with the shallow DOF, at all, and now that I think of it I think I shot these at f/8, not f/2.8 (m42 adapted lenses so I have no info on aperture there, but it's what I remember). At 2.8 these probably would have been ridiculously impossible I think, especially with my shaky hands.

I wanted to try stacking but it was impossible today, with some very strong winds indeed today. These shots were more luck than anything.
