Did some pictures for a friends out of town sister. Unfortunately it was heavily overcast that day and I had to bump up my ISO to 800. so I had to run all the pictures through noiseware and it really increased my pp time.

Any CC appreciated. (rounded corners were for my blog)

I wouldn't crop #5 any tighter. I'm curious which of your listed lenses you used.

Well I used my 24-70L lens and I don't do any sharpening of my photos in post processing other than the noiseware because I shot at ISO 800. With proper exposure comes better sharpness, I'm still working on that myself. The L lens is super sharp though!

These were all shot at ISO 800 and f/2.8 with appropriate SS (usually around 1/100-1/125) It was pretty overcast unfortunately and I only use natural lighting. (bah except at one point in the shoot the overhead light was turned on and we forgot to turn it back off so I can see yellow/orange hues on the right side of some of the shots).

Also one thing i have noticed with my xsi is that if you adjust the sharpness inside the camera it really helps with them in regards to sharpness. Oh and love all of the photo's. Great Job!

#1 is great. If you could lighten the eyes or if they had catchlights it would be fantastic.

I also really like #5. The colors and sharpness are great. My only nit is that it looks like you shot close up and wide, so the legs look disproportionately large. Maybe crop just above the knee?

Nice job. BTW, how old is she? I plan on shooting my my newphew next month when he'll be around 3 months.

She is 5 months old. Good luck 3 months is a tough age, they are often awkward looking, don't have very good head / neck control and hate laying on their stomachs.

And I agree, I sooo wish I could have gotten better catchlights but I just didn't have much natural light to work with. As much as I love being a natural light photographer, I think I am going to HAVE to get a speedlight for situations like this one.

I've never heard of this either? Please share.

Nice pics. The only thing I would remove the shadows in the backdrop...you can see some some little wrinkles in it.

If you go to Menu on your camera, then Picture Style-Set-choose the picture style you are using-DISP-you can adjust Sharpness, Contrast, Saturation and Color Tone.

Adorable baby!!
