I'm taking a bit of time off work this week and when I saw the forecast for yesterday was a strong southeasterly wind I thought I'd get down to the coast to shoot some wild seas. The problem with the Hampshire coast is there's nothing close by that's suitable (unless you're on the Isle of Wight), so I drove over to neighbouring Dorset to have a look around. My first plan was to drive to Lulworth and walk along West Coast Path to the Mupe Rocks, thinking there'd be some good waves crashing over them. Part way over the hills I found the path was closed as it crosses the Lulworth Ranges and there was to be live firing. Plan B was to look around Lulworth Cove, where I got some good shots.
The lighting was very poor so I was up around 1000ISO most of the time, and I was using UV filters to keep the spray off the lenses, but that spray was spoiling contrast and definition, so it was tough. I got thoroughly soaked too, but I was prepared for that.
Here's about the best out of over 200 on the day, looking across the mouth of Lulworth Cove. I've brought up the brightness and contrast from the original RAW.

To give a more realistic impression of the conditions I was shooting in, here's when I got nearest to the foam, converted straight from the RAW.
Mark.
