I've never seen a scorpion fly before are they uncommon. Not been shooting personally, rather busy at the moment refurbishing a bike for grandaughter, and have a friend in hospital as well.

Thanks Doc and Ken
Doc I see what your saying about the tick (its probably were I was hanging over nettles and worrying if I could see this one how many was i lying on )
I know just excuses (note to self must try harder :(:lol:)

Ken I have seen a few before but not many
But when I was out on Saturday they were all over the bushes (fairly dopy so I don't no if they were young)

Spent the afternoon in and around Stockbridge after lunch at the Boot in Houghton. Granted the sky was a cloud-covered washout so took no pictures, but just wondered if any of you know of any photogenic spots, like good spots to shoot scenes of the Test River for when the weather is kinder?

Some very interesting macros there Cogs, quite a few of those I've never seen. Good shots.

I went out after sunset this evening to try and get the conjunction between the three planets Venus, Mercury and Jupiter. Tomorrow is supposed to be the tightest they get, but with the weather so unreliable I thought I'd make use of today's clear skies while they were there. This is with the 100-400 at 180mm on the 5DII. Jupiter is on the left, Venus lower right, Mercury upper right.

If we get a chance tomorrow, the best time is between 2130 and 2150, but you need a good low western horizon.

Mark.

I really must get on here more often - So much dust on the laptop screen I had a job to distinguish the planets there Mark.

Should be a nice clear sky this evening, so I might take a look at the line up as well.

Some nice work by you all - I haven't been on here since 10th April according to log in !!
