Amazing luck to get the exact moment the two Red Arrows crossed. Image hosted by forum (694374) © Lowner [SHARE LINK] THIS IS A LOW QUALITY PREVIEW. Please log in to see the good quality stuff. I went on the Sunday, which was the best weather, and decided to take the hit on weight to try the 600L at airshows. I took almost 1200 altogether - with such tight framing results can be a bit hit or miss, especially going for long shutter speeds for prop blur. Here's a selection of hits. This was a long distance shot, but gave good perspective on the smoke trails. This corkscrew manoeuvre was new for this 50th anniversary season. Lancaster at 1/200th B17 at 1/100th and the gorgeous Vulcan. Over the years they've had it flying, they've really got the hang of how to put on a good display. All of the above shots were taken with the 600L on the 7D. The next was a wider shot with the 100-400L on 5DII, at 400mm, not cropped. And finally, here's my gear all packed up again. The trolley was essential. The 600 was on the big tripod and I used a fluid head for smooth panning. Other lenses (in the rucksack) were handheld. The long blue bag contained a comfy folding chair. Mark.
