I've heard they hang around there sometimes before starting the trek back south. Shame the weather doesn't sound promising for a stakepout this week. :(

You may be interested in this website for "sightings" of various birds - Osprey gets mentioned a fair bit around langstone harbour & thorney Island.

Sold this painting yesterday :) now if I can sell a few more, perhaps I could treat myself to a proper macro lens :-)

Hey guys,
Have had a long old weekend. have been at Weyfest this weekend. was amazing. was talking to the guildford stranglers, wishbone ash and the zombies. first time i have done anything like this and it was a real great laugh.

got some images but they need to be editted and sent to the organiser before personal use... i have 3,000 images to go through, select the good ones and then edit them.

Couple of Macro shots with the Canon 15-85

One thing I noticed whilst shooting this slug is that it can change it's skin colour, the light patch went from white to brown and back again whilst observing it, just like squid or cuttlefish.

Hi everyone, and nice macros, Ken.

I have been to Wales and shot kites, but haven't downloaded any of the images yet, 'cause I have also been in Norway and took shots like these;-

Super set of shots, Becky, looks like you must have had a good time. Just been up to the Watercress Line today since the weather forecast for tomorrow isn't looking good. Skies were grey though :( heres a couple. I also experimented with the video on the 7D, but haven't sorted it for YouTube yet.

Great shots Becky. The third is my favourite.

Great loco shots Ken, I like the second one best because of the figure on the footplate, people add so much to a shot sometimes.

Ken,

Care to share the location you shot the steam engines from? I'm rapidly running out of location ideas around Salisbury. I'm very happy to reciprocate if anyone wants information around here.

I saw the Milky Way the clearest I've ever seen while on passage mid English Channel on Wednesday night. I had never realised that there are in fact two entirely seperate bands running in parallel as it passes Orions belt. I spent many hours doing nothing but staring up at the sky in awe, which took my mind off the frustration of watching two "knowall" types plan and then execute a cross channel passage each. The debrief at the end of the week was very satisfying to deliver!
