No, I really mean for the title to be like that. I did post a couple others from today to my flickr but they'll likely be removed Saturday (I plan to go back to explore for more photo opportunities during midday day for different lighting and will hopefully have some more good ones to let me dump the filler). I really only came back with one shot I like but I guess I put the others up to flickr for content/context.

Considering the way I shoot and how I often take so long to study the location before finding something I want, let alone getting it the way I like, I'm pretty happy to come back with just one "keeper."

Only took 35 frames but a good number of those are retakes of this one shot to get it exactly right and to get it without camera shake and nothing creeping in the corners of the frame (I brought the Rebel only so no 100% viewfinder). In this one case I was composing for the whole frame, rather than expecting to crop. In total I only took five different scenes today of the 35 shots, everything else that wasn't an attempt for this shot was a duplicate for another shot.

So after that lengthy story, this is the one I'm definitely keeping...

I still really have no idea which photo sharing section I'm supposed to put things like this in

C&C away if you so desire but I'm all set on this one... another odd attribute of my odd shooting habits.

I like it. My only critique would be is to clone the largest rectangle to be one solid piece or crop out the notch. Very nice!

I like to work with what I'm given and do as little manipulation as possible. This was really just about the only composition I could get given the flexibility I had in where I could put my camera and the lenses I had on me at the time (30mm, 50mm, 100mm). I do crop though and is something I am usually thinking about while shooting.

I considered the need to crop when I was shooting but I didn't really have the time to really contemplate that in post, I kind of just rushed processing these to show to my friend who was with me when I was shooting. I've been looking at it both ways and I should have stuck with my gut when I was shooting it. It's cropped now :)

Thanks for jolting my memory, I feel silly now! :p
