After some false starts, financial shortcomings and heartbreaking near-misses on excellent deals, I finally snagged one of the coveted EF 50mm 1.8 mark 1 lenses off Ebay today. Yay me!
The Wife and I share a Nifty between the two of us, but I play around with IR and want to try it with a fast prime. The Nifty is unsuitable, lacking a decent MF ring, distance scale of IR focal mark, whereas the Mk I lacks none of these. Plus, I get a nice little fast prime for regular photography all to myself. Should I be so happy about getting a lens that's 20+ years old?
