I have just picked up a 400mm f/5.6 and these are the result of my first day out with it. The first was shot from my lounge window and the rest were taken at my local reservoir. These show that I need to spend some time learning to get the best from this lens.

The compulsory (with this lens) BIF shot - some sort of gull - I'm not good with gulls!

Thanks for looking.

# 3 Is a neat pic. You will really like that lens when you get it figured out, same lens I bought about four months ago and still learning!

Thanks all for your comments.

artyman - yes I do like the new toy, but there is certainly going to be a steep learning curve with it. I just hope to get a few lucky ones during the learning process.

Congrats on the new lens, it's probably the best bang for the buck birding lens out there.
