they are actually giving these away my subscription ran out about 5 months ago and they still sends then to me

After subscribing to SI for decades I didn't want to spend 80+dollars/yr. anymore so I stopped. A free one arrived last week. I think all magazines are hurting, just like newspapers. I do buy the swimsuit issue though:)

Thanks for the heads up on this offer. I just signed up using the bill me later. I can always make a rule sending junk mail to the delete folder.

Magazines are dying a slow death, but they are holding on for all their worth. It's too bad -- I still enjoy magazines.

The last time I subscribed to a magazine, which was PC Magazine late last fall, I got about three issues before I received a letter saying that they were ceasing the paper magazine and going web only!

I subscribed using the link, and it said $7 alright... + some shipping fee to Canada. But I got charged $29.41 on my Visa... I wonder if that's right? I don't remember the shipping being this high! Then Again, it could just be the exchange rate.

I think it was USD$7 for the 2 years, and USD$8 per year for shipping those to Canada.
That ship to Canada price has been a joke. They don't ship them individually to Canada, they send 1 pack to someplace in Mississauga and from there it gets sent out
