Holy over-sharpening, Batman!

Got a pic of the "booty dish"? I'm curious about it. Especially about the CD holder thingy.

Did you lose Digital Photo Professional (DPP)? Get it here (external link). Cursing at your worse-than-a-map reflector? Check out this vid! (external link)

Sort of resembles an examination lamp, which reveals the slightest unflattering detail. Could be a merciless contraption. Looks cool, though, and would surely come in handy at times.

That is funny that you say that considering the dish is supposed to do the opposite. I haven't found a really good tutorial on skin smoothing except the Gaussian blur which looks COMPLETELY fake.

Well, exam lamps are very intense. Yours is probably much softer and very different from the kind of light, say, a dentist uses. The lamp just has a similar look about it.

People use various methods for skin smoothing, some of which are quick and simple like gaussian blur. The preferred method, and also very time consuming, is dodge and burn technique. Check here for more info, www.retouchpro.com (external link). Some smoothing is overdone, I think, and looks almost plastic to me.

I used my own method quickie technique on this one, personally I like to see some flaws. After all life isn't perfect.

This is what I would have done (using noise removal and slight sharpening).

Ahhh I think the point of a beauty dish is so you don't have to do as much skin PP. Not make it worse. The light coming from it is a little too harsh, which tells me it isn't smooth enough, or too reflective in all sorts of directions but the direction you want it to go.

Try putting a thin white cloth in front of it.

I know you werent asking about this but since it came up, I thought I would share:)

This is the second picture I have tried to retouch...I like this one because It put the texture back on so it doesnt have that fake look. It uses surface blur and high pass..and standard patch heal retouching.

thanks brennasg. Great job editing. Wife loves it and thanks for the link to christyschuler. I'm trying to find a skin softening link that makes a pattern from a section of skin and then does a healing-patch sorta-thing. I don't know if such a work flow exists. Anyways, here's my go...
