I've got black and brown-ish bg, where can I get a cheap white bg? Thanks!

Wal-Mart has 108" (white and beige) mMuslin for $4.75/yd.

I was going to also say go to Walmart. We don't have Walmart here in NYC but they do have them out in the suburbs. That is where I went to get mine.

The only problem is Walmart is getting out of the material business. That is according to my local Walmart which has already cleared it out and completely remodeled the area.

Same thing here in Cleveland. The "arts and crafts" area is completely gone.

And at the three(!) newer stores here, none have ever had that area at all.
