I love the last one, as the filthy car and the low light angle show the part of endurance racing that TV never shows the average person.

Your camera is alot smarter than the "M" Zealots would have you believe

Great stuff, John, I was looking forward to your images. I grew up in Long Beach, and attended/worked at several LBGP's - Mario Adretti Vintage even. Love the "King taco" banner. Ate there many times in east LA working graves, best Mex food ever.

Sadly, I don't miss LB at all.

John, #'s 1,2,4&8 do it for me. Although I think #1 with a slower shutter speed would of gave the scene a bit more motion. But being that it was taken at the hair pin turn just before the finish line the cars go very slow around the turn so a slower shutter speed would be more challenging. But the dynamics of the shots make it work. Nice job as usual.;)

I know what you mean about #1. But I don't think the problem is the shutter speed as much as it is the cars literally are crawling through there. This one was at 1/60th. What I don't like about dropping much lower than that is you really start to pick up distortion. You can see the wheels are starting to "screw" away from the car already.

I actually liked the turn we'd shoot at Portland with the same effect... but they carried more speed.

Thanks.

JT

This is true. I hate trying to pan when you pan faster then the car is actually moving. They are race cars for crying out loud. That is a difficult corner to shoot though.
