Bryan Carnathan from The-Digital-Picture has published a review of the legendary and insanely rare Canon EF 1200mm f/5.6 L lens. The review is not very in-depth but does give general information plus sample photos from this lens. I believe the lens was loaned to Bryan from B&H to review. For anyone who has $120,000 USD lying around, B&H used department has a fairly good condition one for sale. This lens is the longest and probably most expensive autofocus lens in the world.

I always knew this lens was large but never got to see it beside another for comparison. There are images of the 1200mm f/5.6 L besides the also very large and expensive 800mm f/5.6 IS L in the review. GEAR PORN

Wow, that's insane.

at first i thought "wow" "I WANT THIS!!" but then... just imagine the pain in the neck of carrying this monster for a wildlife trip. The pain of worry if it gets damaged. (so what it's insured, it's take you years to get another one anyway) and mostly - the pain of realizing that you need to find excuses for yourself of not taking it with you. As for the price - hey here in LA there are plenty of cars that cost more than that. So if you REALLY want it - add this to your mortgage ;)
