This is my beloved Maxi, who was with me for 16 years until this past Saturday. He found me when he was a couple of months old and filled my heart every day. He's gone on to chase butterflies, lizards and birds, eat all he wants, bask in the sun and never be in pain again.

It pains me to hear of your loss. Feel joy though in knowing that in those many years of happiness he provided to you, he felt the same amount of love and gained the same amount of happiness FROM you as well. You have my deep sympathies.
He was quite the handsome devil :-)

You and Maxi were indeed the luckiest to have had each other.

I'm so sorry. Living to be 16 you must have given him a wonderful life. Try to be happy knowing you gave him as much joy as he gave you.

I am so sorry you lost Maxi. He was a beautiful kitty and looks well-loved. I also lost a beloved pet this past Saturday. I had to put my pet goat down (he was like my dog) and watching him die quite literally in my arms was such an incredibly hard and sad thing to do. But you are right, it was the right thing, even if it is harder for us, and now both Maxi and Shanti are in no pain and at peace.

But what a wonderful chance meeting 16 years ago!
