I'm kind of embarrassed to post these pictures after seeing how many great photographers there are on this site, lol.
These are some of the first pictures I shot without using my automatic mode, woohoo!
Anyways, C&C is appreciated.

I can't usefully comment on color or brightness at the moment, since I'm on my laptop, but I love the composition on the first one. I like the second one as well, though I would have preferred to see less of her head cropped off. The third and fourth... I don't see anything wrong with them, as such, but they don't grab me as much.

Good work!

The white balance is off in all of them. The second shot is not flattering (smushed face and major forehead wrinkles) and too close of a crop. I like the first one though, if there was a bit more light on her.

Thanks for the comments, guys. I appreciate them.

I've noticed that all of my pictures do have that orangey/yellowish tone to them.
The whole white balance issue really confuses me.
Do I just set my camera to "Custom WB" and then use a gray card?

Well depending on where you are, you can set the WB to that situation. So you could have set these to sunny or if using flash, set it to flash. You can also set it to auto and then fix it in Lightroom. I was trained to use a grey card, but truthfully never really use it. I take test shots and check them in camera to see where I stand and then adjust from there. However, if you do get use to using the grey card, they will help you.
