Good start here, but you've got poles growing out of it in #s 1 & 3.

I must object on the tire direction comments - this does not detract from this image.

If the wheel was turned more, say full lock and the control arms and suspension became visible, yes. But a slight turn-in with the wheel face still visible does not look bad. Seeing tire detail, especially on cars with wide front tires, can look pretty cool.

Not sure how the wheel turned-in thing became a rule on this board. It is simply your personal preference.

Agreed on the tire turning issue (serious stuff people), it's a matter of preference. I'm surprised how much noise there is in #1. Was it shot with your 40D?

My G10 was good. My XS is better and here is my flickr (external link).

Yeah, shot with my 40D. I had to add some fill light because I was shooting almost directly into the headlights, resulting in a very underexposed image.

These were all kind of quickie shots, with little thought to composition. The headlights were on in all 4 because I was actually trying to catch the headlights. The pictures were for a car accessory site. The owner supplied me with some lighting and performance accessories in exchange for photos. :)

There really is no rule, but generally, people would rather see the wheels instead of the tread.

You have to get off "Auto", & yes, that means Av & Tv, too.

Anytime you're shooting for "pay", it's not the time for quickie shots?

You needed to take at least two exposures & blend them. Look at the bottom of Malibu in the snow.

Pretty sure I shot all of these in manual mode.

As for "anytime you're shooting for pay", I had a short window of time, and these are what he was looking for. I'm not going to spend hours working away from my family when it's not needed. I think a correct balance of time for value is much more important. I'm no pro, and have ZERO interest in becoming one. :)

And re: the Malibu
did you use a tripod for that shot? I used my camera bag. I'm capable of shooting an HDR shot, but didn't have the time, gear, or will to do it at the time.

Thanks for the comments.

My mistak4e. You said,"I had to add some fill light because I was shooting almost directly into the headlights, resulting in a very underexposed image.", which is usually the result of incorrect exposure.
