I vaguely remember BlackRapid having discount codes available. Perhaps it was through NAPP? I can't find any information and am beginning to think I was dreaming. They have a discount available on purchases of 20 or more (10% off) but I don't know 19 other people who want one! :)

Count me in for one! But are they still selling the old Fasten-R with the strap, and not the new one? :| You have to pay extra for the new Fasten-R? That's not right...

Okay what the heck. Assuming Cory1848 wants one, we need 17 more people. Post if you you want in!

All are quantity=1 unless otherwise specified...

Hey folks, I'm going to have to scratch plans for the 20 person order. Paying an extra $12 to get the updated fastener-2 seems a little off to me. I'm not sure how their customer service is, but paying over 25% of the cost of the item to get the updated, critical connection piece just doesn't seem right.

Maybe we could get them with the updated connector at a nice price if we had a large enough group order? I would be in for one.

Okay, we'll see what they do. Continue to post if you're in on this.

Many of us that ordered their ConnectR-2 back in October are still awaiting for the product. I can opt for the refund (which was $0.01 for the actual item....but, charged a rediculous $4.99 for shipping). However, if I ever need that ConnectR to improve my strap it would cost me $16.00 (not including that rediculous shipping price) MORE!!!

I would have thought they got all their ducks in a row before releasing new products?

Reference from sneakerpimp here: https://photography-on-the.net …hp?p=7745839&postcount=10

the original [fastenr] design failed to stay put, was difficult to removed, caused damage to the bottom of my camera because of metal to plastic contact, had sharp edges that also caused damage to anything that came into contact including my hand.

So basically we're in for $16 for the connectr-2 + $12 for the fastenr-2 + cost of the original strap (=$68 ) if we want something that has the bugs worked out? I hope you correct me if I'm wrong because that just doesn't seem right.

You are absolutely correct.

I did this mod and it's held up very well for me. https://photography-on-the.net …p?p=7497742&postcount=113

There are also a bunch ideas for improving their own R-straps starting from here till the end of the thread. https://photography-on-the.net …highlight=r-strap&page=20

If you can get them to add those new features for free, in your group buy, that would be great. If not, you would have to justify if it's worth it. So far, BlackRapid hasn't done too much to resolve issues of their original designs and are expecting us to pay more each time.....

That is very unfortunate. Poor customer service makes me hesitate in a big way, and makes me appreciate companies that have their act together that much more.
