I wouldn't buy it for that reason alone. Just because it CAN go that high, doesn't mean it should. The 50D goes to some absurd ISO setting but produces files that are pretty much unusable.

I think it's interested that B&H is accepting preorders though. They haven't done that in the past (at least not on the web)

If I were getting my first DSLR that is the one I would get. Right now I am in 5D MkII Limbo, having ordered that camera but it is out of stock. Now they are not even accepting orders so I guess I am lucky in that I do have one on order. I suspect that B&H are thinking that the T1i may be as difficult to keep in stock as the 5D Mk II so they are going to handle it in a similar way. It will be interesting to see if there are the same out of stock and backordered problems with this new Rebel. It is a heckuva camera for the price.

Yeah for sure. I would never go higher than 3200 to be honest. However, since my XSi can only go up to 1600 right now, I think an "upgrade" might be worth it with all the new features that the T1i has. I ultimately want a 5D Mark II but that's going to be a few years from now. :D

.... and the economy hasn't stunk so badly before now either,.. I assure you the two are related. B&H needs to peddle fast to keep up just like every one else these days.

Appreciate the heads up. Didn't see anything on it last week when I was looking at B&H.
