Hi all

For a long time I've been dreaming about photographing the European Shag in full breeding plumage and this month I fulfilled that dream. We sailed to an island called Flatey in Breidafjordur and from there to a small island called Klofningur. I would like to thank Sigurjon (a member here and a good friend of mine) for arranging this trip. Here are the first few shots. Please feel free to comment (C&C). :)

Brilliant set of shots, how close did you manage to get, to get the first portrait.

Wow, those are simply stunning! Fantastic work.

I had no idea that shags can be that beautiful. We have them here in Trondheim too (at least I think they are the same species), but I have only managed to take a few long distance shots with a much too short lens.

Just incredible Sindri. bw!

I waa going to ask Sigurjon, in his post, if he knew you but I see that that isn't necessary.

Perhaps all Icelanders (correct term?) are born great photographers! :D
