5D2 mirror lock-up

I want to use mirror-lock when shooting long exposure with 500mm+TC. Does this function still need to be set using the CF menu when Live View is used? ....Since the mirror has to be flipped up anyway for LV to work.

When LV is enabled, the mirror is up and doesn't flip down until after the exposure is made, so it essentially does the same thing.
