i just wonder if anyone ever use 400 f/2.8 to shoot at golf even? I'll shot a golf tournament next month. I don't have 300mm range but i have 400 f/2.8. Is it too long for it?

I have 70-200 to cover at short range already so that is covered. Thanks for all the tips/input.

Alex, my main lens I use for PGA and LPGA events are the 400 and 70-200, I also see photogs with 500 out which makes sense a little lighter than the 400. There are times that the 400 may be to long but not that often. These were all shot with 400 at Bay Hill this year. Sorry for the watermark

Oh, you mean beyond the fact it's a Nikon?

<Sorry, couldn't resist...> ;)

Is this a pro event PGA, LPGA, will you have inside the ropes. I use day 1&2 to capture the top 25,any rookies or new golfers from over seas and the European Tour, scope out the course to see if there were any changes from the prior year, I also use this to look for clean BG's on tee shots, fairways or tees for full body shots, all this plus keep an eye out for leaders. Most important thing I learned covering the tour (FIND COMFORTABLE WALKING SHOES) and be prepared for the weather rain etc. Good Luck Have Fun
