Canon 50mm 1.4 now available at B&H

I got this in an email from B&H a few minuntes ago:

I was just there today at lunchtime. I resisted temptation and only bought a Lowepro bag and a polarizing filter. It was busy as always in B&H.

Man, I'd love to visit that place. Are the local prices the same as online?

I know I'd leave there with a healthy credit card balance, so I guess it's a good thing I'm not near it.

The thing about local prices for a town like mine is that those lenses I bought are not available anywhere here in town. In addition to that, if they were here you could count on buying them online cheaper.

One visit to your local pro camera shop or even Best Buy will tell you all you need to know about that subject, and especially if you are accustom to seeing the prices on-line.

The prices in the store are identical to what you see online. The only difference is that when you buy in the store you musy pay the local NYC/NY State sales tax. Living in NY gives you many great camera stores to choose from. We also have J&R, Adorama, Calumet and many more but B&H is still the king.

Not like that in Knoxville, Tn. I see lens prices from $30 to $100 greater here local prices, and then add sales tax to that.
That makes online stores like B&H a great deal for us.

That's probably how they can keep there bricks n mortar prices and online prices low by having few locations. It cost a lot to multiply stores all across the states. I'm cool with something taking a week to get to me for a good deal.

Looks like they're out of stock already...

Roberts Camera has the 50mm 1.4 for $325

What's dumb is that I requested email notification at B&H for the 35mm f/1.4L and I never got one. But I just happened to check the site last Friday and saw they had them in-stock and ordered one.

This is back in stock now, in case anyone is interested.
