Is there any way one of these beasts could be adapted to EF? That'd be a sweet lens... straight from landscape to birding, or some crazy sports uses...

I'd think the image circle on that would be much too small, since it's designed for the smaller sensors in video cameras...

A quote from http://www.canon.com/bctv/faq/100x_zoomlens.html (external link)

The DIGISUPER 100 xs has improved the range of focal length from 9.3mm-930mm and also has succeeded in compensating the chromatic aberration to a very high accuracy.
The superior optical capacity also allows the lens to offer a maximum relative aperture of 1.7 and a minimum object distance of 3.0 meters.

Yea that sounds sweet.....
But will it feel sweet in the hands or wallet? ???

FYI those lenses are huge. They are for broadcast TV cameras and make even some of the largest SLR lenses look small :p

If you take a look at the specs, it's almost 52 pounds and given that the less capable lenses are over $66,000 I/m guessing that this one is gonna break $100k.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
I used to hate math but then I realised decimals have a point.
