Looks like the girls really went at the boys. I love it when the kids go hard and really get at it.
Colors look good, but try increasing SS. There seems to be some blur in a few of the shots.

You got the right idea. All of the photos have good action, show the ball and faces. I don't care for photo #1 because of the Mom in the background.
I suspect that you are shooting in sports mode because your shutter speed, ISO, and f-stops are constantly changing. I would try to shoot in AV or Manual. AV will set your speed for you. The reason I would choose AV is that many of the photos are soft. When reviewing the exif data, most of the pictures were shot at 2.8. This leaves a very shallow DOF. You can see it in the grass blades what area is in focus. I know many others prefer to shoot at 2.8 but they are very experienced with expensive cameras. I would encourage you to start at a higher f-stop and go over 1/500th and manage the ISO to get the shutter speed if needed. This will give more freedom for sharper focus.
Hope this helps.
John

I typically try to shoot in m. this day was very bright sun and would change to the sun ducking behind the clouds. All rain and wind by the second half. I agree with the shutter speed i typically try to shoot at least at 1/500. I just got the 70-200 so i think i was just trying to shoot as wide open as possible. I think i accomplished some of what i was looking for with the depth of field. I think i will back off the aperture a little to get more keepers.
thanks for the cc
Jeff
