OK,

I usually don't start topics for newb topics such as the one I am right now (I have looked for solutions all over the web including here). Maybe I'm not using the proper search terms since mine are so broad, but I CANNOT download large MOV files processed by the 5D mark II. So far the only way I can see the data files on the camera is via USB in windows explorer as a windows device/data drive. I can download the 300 and 500mb files, but trying to copy over the 1.4GB files cut half way through with a windows error. ("thread exit" error)

My crap system:

Windows XP SP3
P4 3.2ghz
2GB DDR2
500GB SATA (1/5th full)

The easiest solution might be to use a card reader.

i hate constantly buying accessory after accessory after accessory after.... but, I found a decent SATA internal multi-card reader according to your advice. I'm confident this will get my big fat videos downloaded.

Now I just have to get a new computer so that they won't bog down my video editing software so much. :/
