Hey all

I'm doing a lot of photojournalism lately, but don't have any good ways to carry the essential gear when I'm running around events and stuff. Anyways, what do you suggest for a nice bag that can hold 2 bodies, one with the 70-200 2.8L IS mounted (hood reversed, i don't care) and a 5D mark II, possibly with the 24-70 on it, but not nessacary, and space to hold a few other small lenses and a flash?

I can't seem to find anything good, and I know you all have a lot of experience. Help me out pleaseeee!

Check out the Domke F2 and the 720-230 insert for it. Designed by a working photojournalist to be easy to work out of.

Domke F2 is also my choice for a great 1st bag. However, when on assignment I use two bodies w/lenses -- 1DM3 & 24-70 f2.8L (strap around my neck) and 1DM2 & 70-200 f2.8L (strap on my shoulder). 580EX II on 1DM3. Extra batteries in pant pockets, extra CF memory cards in shirt pocket, extra 580EX in Lighning Fast (Think Tank Photo) case on my belt. I try NOT to carry a bag unless it is absolutely necessary. ;)

I've been known to use many different lenses, so it's hard to NOT use a bag..i'm used to backpacks, so this is new. It will also come in handy for some trips.

An example of what I'm going to be shooting is the "Volvo Ocean Race"

I'll be there with my 400 2.8L IS, which won't be in any bag, and it will be mounted on a camera. Most of my strength will be put into lugging that around, so i'll need some sort of shoulder bag for the other stuff, ya know?

I pack the UD50 with a ton of stuff but it's still pretty light and has plenty of places to pack stuff in to...

I wear a Newswear Chestvest when I'm shooting weddings. It's pretty much the same concept as PJ - running around a lot, need quick access to all the most used stuff, etc.

Here's a pic of me, totally whipped by the heat in Mexico, wearing the Chestvest:

What do you all think of the Lowepro Stealth Report 650AW?

Feature dense bag, extremely well made and padded, top access zipper excellent, IMO much better made than the comparable Think Tank Urban Disguise when I've examined both...heavier outer material and denser padded dividers.

The Stealth is shaped differently than the Urban Disguise; the former is more like a typical camera bag...Domke, Crumpler, while the UD is more like a briefcase on a strap...wide and high, but not deep. Depends on which style you like to carry.

My preference is the Stealth series. Think Tank makes superb products, but for this shoulder bag, I prefer the Lowepro.

Maybe you should take a look at the Think Tank Skin series belt system. I'm hoping to receive mine tomorrow!

I think TT UD series is truely exellent for transport gears to location and storage while you are shooting on location. It is however not the best photojournalist bag. The smaller onem, 20, 30, are not very easy in terms of camera access. The bigger one like 50 and 60 are not very comfortable to carry around for a long time. I think Lowepro stealth series and Domke are better photohournalist bag.

Another vote for Think Tank UD. Mine's a 50 and I love the hell out of it.
