Hello all, my first time posting in this forum. I didn't want to bore the people over in the lens forum so I thought I would post my simple Dogwood bloom shot here. I took several shots of my daughter and played around with DOF with my new lens and I have to say I love it. I took about 50 dif shots of the DW tree and this one was nothing special and not the best, just the first one I grabbed to do some PP too.
C&C welcome just remember it wasn't a planned or setup shot, just a random shot.

Original shot off the camera

Playing around doing some simple PP, never PP a DW bloom before. I may have slaughtered it oh well here it is.

Yep, I prefer the original too. I'm thinking of picking up one of these lenses. How are you liking it

I am liking it a lot, just snapped a few shots off of my baby girl in room light at 1/80 sec iso 1000 :) f 1.8 that is awesome compared to what I am use too.

And BTW, the PP I did was to make it look creamy and smooth. I might have mentioned I primarily shoot portraits and candids of people so my PP leans more toward that :)

I knew I was getting away from the detail but thought I would try it out.
Thanks for the replies. I might do another retouch I can try something else ;)

Very cool. Your PP wasn't bad, I just liked seeing more detail in the original. Enjoy!

Having trouble in Photoshop getting the colors to pop.
Here is a similar picture but as you can see I can't even get Photoshop to register the dual tones in the center of the bloom but you can clearly see them with the DPP touch up.
Can anyone explain to me how to get Photoshop to better translate my raw files?
Dpp touch up
