I have an A95 and last December the LCD died...
I called Canon about trading it in (Canon has a program for trading up if your camera dies...) and what I could get for it...
When the techie tells me that there is an outstanding recall on the LCD and Canon would send me a shipping label to return it for repair/replacement...
which is what I did....

I just found a working G3 at a thrift shop today...$30...not a bad deal at all for looks like the prosumer version of the A95...and the battery works!!!! for how long I don't know yet...that's all that came with the camera, but that's all I need...for the perfect back up for the travelin' SLR...same batt as my SLRs, same charger, and like the A95, the CF card...nice...

...and as I'm playing with it, figuring it out without the manual, (I did download it and THAT'S how I found out how to manually adjust the shutter/aperture...easy...nice...

....anyway, I'm looking at the LCD and remember that the A95's was recalled and now wonder if the G3 LCD was too...

Edit for answer...
Canon tells me that the G3 is not on the list of LCD recalls...

...thanks for your replies...I'll be baaaaahhhhhhk....

$30.00 that's a great find...I'm still using my G2 for Real Estate work and toss around /keep in the car camera. I use my G7 for more serious stuff. Any missing items can be found on ebay. In fact, I bought a complete non working Black G2 package for $30 + 10 shipping. I got all the manuals, CDs, Charger and remote with it.

Canon G7, G2, S200, Elan IIe, WP-50, AE-1, Speedlite 380EX & 155A and Kodak Brownie Flashmite 20

I copied the files to my pc using a card reader, and just tried to upload RAW images with DPP (V 3.6.0) but got the X-in-the-box 'error'...anyone with suggestions for my error in uploading "CRW_" images? The camera came with no software...I though I'd be able to use DPP for the RAW files...jpeg files open in PS6 no problem...
Thank you for your help...

Well....I went to my other pc with PS Elements7 and it opened the .CRW RAW file...now why wouldn't DPP open it...???

Edit for answer...
Canon told me this AM that DPP only opens SLR RAW files...

Here's the lil' pup...

You can down load all the software from the Canon Corp site..not sure what their requirements are.

Thanks....I'd downloaded the manual and had all the other software for/from my 30D...just not the older ZB that opens RAW files...but I'll just use PSE7...

$30 for a working G3. Wow. I remember I paid like $775 for mine back in 2003. Classic camera if you ask me!
