I have an A95 and last December the LCD died...
I called Canon about trading it in (Canon has a program for trading up if your camera dies...) and what I could get for it...
When the techie tells me that there is an outstanding recall on the LCD and Canon would send me a shipping label to return it for repair/replacement...
which is what I did....
I just found a working G3 at a thrift shop today...$30...not a bad deal at all for looks like the prosumer version of the A95...and the battery works!!!! for how long I don't know yet...that's all that came with the camera, but that's all I need...for the perfect back up for the travelin' SLR...same batt as my SLRs, same charger, and like the A95, the CF card...nice...
...and as I'm playing with it, figuring it out without the manual, (I did download it and THAT'S how I found out how to manually adjust the shutter/aperture...easy...nice...
....anyway, I'm looking at the LCD and remember that the A95's was recalled and now wonder if the G3 LCD was too...
Edit for answer...
Canon tells me that the G3 is not on the list of LCD recalls...
...thanks for your replies...I'll be baaaaahhhhhhk....
