Crap, just read through some of the previous pages and the debate contained within about the original intent of this thread; I guess I didn't "get it" when I skimmed through the first page

Oh well ![]() Haha don't worry about it. I created this thread so long ago that I don't even remember the details anymore. Given my nature, I'm sure it was some sort of sarcastic poke at a trend that was currently making it's way through the board that left everyone absolutely baffled and mystified as to how it was done. I probably made the thread just to poke fun at it. The original intent to was post pictures of baseballs (or other high-speed balls) frozen in flight and in a very narrow depth of field.

This is as close as I have ever come, ball still not tack sharp but I thought the positioning, and the laces on top was pretty cool. 2014_11_14_Denton at Birdville_0070 by Gary Sanderson Photography Gary

Finally managed to get one of these from a table tennis match. Unfortunately the ball was rotated such that the logo isn't visible but it'll have to do. Good shot (and actually thread fitting). I'd be curious to see if the logo was clear even at 1/1000. I come here for your expert opinion. Please do not hesitate to critique or edit.

But even if it wasn't sharp, you'd expect the ball to rotate something like 30 degrees during the exposure, you would still be able to see where the logo was if it was on the correct side. travisvwright Goldmember More info Post edited over 8 years ago by travisvwright. | Yeah I was thinking the left to right up down motion relative to the camera wasn't too much for 1/1000 but rotation in most shots is going to be a lot more than that. Post back when you finally get that shot. I come here for your expert opinion. Please do not hesitate to critique or edit.
