So that's the easiest way to get a title eh? Hmm..

No there is no best wa to get a title, you just get the title you were least expecting...

Hmm.. Reading up about the Yongnuo triggers now. I'm thinking of just going all Yongnuo off ebay  I think it'll be 1 transmitter, 3 receivers and 2 of their flashes for around $200. Sounds good to me :)

Edit: And yeah, that's my "homework" that I thought I was going to do! Damn photography!

As I said, wait for Al, and maybe go fook with his first

Hey everyone.

Just got back from falls creek this morning and it was amazing!
No snow fall while we were there but it was clear blue skies and it was beautiful.

There will be alot of photo's coming, unfortunately they are all of people, as i didn't get a good chance to take of the beautiful scenery there.

so anything new? what have i missed?

cheers, Nic

Hi All..just back from this trip: http://www.stawellaviation.com.au/kim.html (external link)

Absolutely amazing ! No doubt many photos will appear over time (2900 taken in 12 days...), but I thought I'd put these up right away.

While at William Creek, I spotted some evidence that maybe I wasn't the first POTNAC'er to visit.....

In this pub:

Try the Vivitar DF400MZ flashes. I got 2 and there pretty good for the price and have an inbuilt optical slave which is really handy ;)

QUOTED IMAGE

C&C if you could.

My mum always said that i shouldnt play with my food.

You have done well, i think you balanced the diffused and hard lighting well, and the crop works. I find my eyes darting to all items around the image so it obviously lacks a main focal point but that works well for this shot IMO.

Did you eat them afterwards? they look yum!

Thanks Justin. I honesty struggled trying to create a lifestyle shot with the focal point being the pancakes.
Perhaps strawberries or sliced apples on the pancakes next time as it's a very neutral image.

They were cold at the end of the shot but bloody marvelous.

I think ith everything being on the same focal plne, everything is in focus, so for a shot plonked on the web, it's a bit busy. As a cover with type over it, yeah, works well.

Looks a bit underexposed over here, though.

Also, was the coffee cold? it looks it, somehow :-)

cheers, juice (Canon shooter, Elinchrom lighter, but pretty much agnostic on brands.)

Good job. They do look pretty delicious.

I wonder if black coffee would have worked better, but maybe on that dark timber table, it would have gotten lost.

I was aiming for a single page illustration rather than a stand alone.
The 'tea' was luke warm when I drank it....fresh in that shot. I'll need to try some shots of steam or at least how to create steam that's useful for photography. I wanted it wafting across the setting.

He does? Alright. V4's. I've got 2 transmitters and 6 receivers now and they haven't missed a beat.

I splashed out on 4 YN-460s and they have worked flawlessly. I though 2 of them bit the dust today but it turned out the batteries weren't charged. I was very close to just chucking them out (simply due to the cost of them) and it was a good idea to try the fresh batteries.

The only other flash I've got in a 430EX. After I get a 2nd body I'm tempted to go for a set of Alien Bees or a Quantum. We shall see.

Phil, watch the flash reflection that's evident at the far corner of the plate.

"Photoshop" it, if you must. ;)
