Whatever happened to the old Photo Golf game we used to play and the Photo Golf Calendar that we all talked about doing at the end of last year?

Never judge a person till you walk a mile in their shoes - by then it won't matter. You are a mile away and they have no shoes.

The i7 is going fantastic! :) It is as follows now:

Core i7 920 on a GA-EX58-UD5
12G DDR3 1600 RAM
ATI HD4870 Dual DVI w/ 1GB RAM running Dual 2407WFPs.
Areca ARC-1222 SAS/SATA RAID HBA
4 x 1TB WD GP disks in RAID10
LG DVD-R/HDDVD/BD
FW800 Expansion
Drobo via FW800
MyBook Studio 2 via FW800
Logitech Di Novo KB for Mac and MX Revolution

It's running 10.5.7 with the vanilla kernel booting via EFI partition. The installation is completely unadulterated with the kexts and bootloader (Chameleon v2.0rc1) loading via the EFI partition. All items work 100%. Also running Parallels 4 for MYOB :)

Holy cow, thats an awesome build, im in process of designing new PC based on i7 CPU. Probably just do 6 or 8 gig of RAM tho and no Raid. Is your LG drive a BluRay burner? and if so is it any good?

Genuine one about $70, aftermarket cheaper.

I never found the Canon one for $70, they were up around $125. The aftermarket one I bought was $50.

We don't have any sauce, which is why there is a lack of it.

Just wondering if anyone knows how much a decent light stand would set me back? I'll probably want some when I get my triggers and flashes  If anyone has some links as well, that'd be great.

Colin, thanks for the edit. I like the change from the original however the Quail shot is overdone. The colour was great in the orignal and very faithful but I've never seen prosciutto that red!
And Phil....I'll have to find the motivation to cook now!

Really nice mate! :)

Wow mate! How do you like the Drobo?
I'm thinking of updating my mobo/gfx/cpu on my current desktop (Q6600@3.2GHz, 8GB RAM, 8800GTS 512) and probably sooner than that getting a RAID controller when I run out of space or 10.6 comes out, whichever comes first ;)... Was it hard to get the RAID array going?

well, not entirely true. Ive got a TV card in my media center, and normally watch it on SBS HD but im in my room on the laptop and the little tv in here doesnt get SBS.. dont know why :S

Can't you just do a stream from the media PC, or at the worst VNC to it... :)

That's for a *good* lightstand set up though... You can go for ebay carp like these
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Studio-Light-Stand-6-5ft-4-Section-Metal-Lightstand-NEW_W0QQitemZ200339892013QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item2ea530272d&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A1|66%3A2|39%3A1|293%3A1|294%3A50 (external link)

which would be 100 bucks a light (incl shipping)...

That's as big as the forum allows....

Cool shot man, a bit narrow :p:lol:
I'd try shooting more rows even if it is just of blank sky or ground then cropping to get the aspect ratio a bit more uhhh normal ;)
