There's so much speculation and outright BS floating around this site at the moment I thought we needed some in this thread.

So what sold you on the 1D4? 15fps or the 88 AF points???

200-500? lol

Sigma make a 200-500/2.8. About 20KG and US$25K IIRC.

cheers, juice (Canon shooter, Elinchrom lighter, but pretty much agnostic on brands.)

They make a 300-800/5.6 and it actually looks like it does alright! Here's the sample archive, there's about two or three people that have it :p It'd be an excellent cricket lens.

Just a tad of distortion ;)
Love the jpg compression

haha

justAL wrote in post #8551883 (external link)
I'm not a fan. HDR ain't workin for me there and the distortion is bad, bad really bad.

Never was a fan of the R1200GS. It's like a woman with a SMOKIN' body and a face that she managed to rescue from the ugly stick.

1200GSA, all the right curves.

had to read that twice Al as I thought you were talking about the model and I was going to say its the lens distorting her head and I was going to get a bit upset. :o but you are referring to MY bike so I am going to get very upset.. yes the GSA is a steroid beast.

That's hte problem, sellers can't leave neutral or negative feedback for buyers any more. IT's stupid. I mean, what about instances like this, where the buyer NEEDS negative feedback? Look at his feedback given to others, it's strewn with negative feedback.

Cant you just not leave any feedback? I've had a few sellers do that to me after I gave them negative feedback (all of which deserved it mind you).

You guys are late to the mark. I've just received the 75-300 2.8L USM IS PIA (Predictive Image Aquisition). Canon have extended the their IS Technology to the point where it can pan/tilt 35 degrees to capture the image you didn't even know you wanted. It's heavy (12.5 kg) and pricey ($37,000) and the super-cooled support trolley is a **** (you'll need a golf cart), but hey, I just took a picture of my own back.

Edit: Aimed at the 7D posts.

Should have held out for the 16-250 1.8L USM IS Macro, at 45kgs and $60,000 its only a little more but so much more worth it. I'd take the extra on the wide end over a bit more reach any day of the week.

I'll see if the chiropractor says I can lift heavy objects tomorrow and take it out for a few shots. Threw my back out taking it out of the box :(

I wasn't going to leave him feedback. Can't let him have the satisfaction of winning now, can we :p

Bugger, should have waited. Nice choice.

For me it was the voice activated control unit umbilical system or vacuus for short. Just so handy for those who aren't ambidexterious enough to use all controls/buttons at the same time.
