I'm pretty sure he's just been very busy with uni lately, spoke to him on facebook the other day.

Right right, thanks Nic.

And speaking of disappearing acts... what's happened to Mark?

I heard his camera was weighing his head down and he couldn't get it above his desk to see what he was doing...............

Funny. I was just thinking about Mark this morning, his absence is noted, last time we were talking about someone not being around and Warren popped up into the site from Jolly Ol England.

Is anyone after a Manfrotto 685B monopod? As new condition, in box.

Perhaps Mark will do the same?

In other news... I've modded your cable. Well some of it anyway. It now has a connector integrated in the standard length. I took the RJ45 sockets back to Jaycar and picked up some PS2 type ones instead since they were only $1.20 each instead of $12. Plus they make it a little neater. Just bloody hard to solder is all. Kind of melted the hot shoe slightly  but I've tested and it seems to work fine. Now to make the extension cable length... more soldering. Yay.

Well there you go - the rumour sites weren't *that* far off. Canon 7D announced today is indeed an APS-C high-end dSLR with dual Digic IV processors, 8fps, full 1080p-30, 1080p-24 and 720p video and a 100% viewfinder and 19 point AF.

I'm somewhat shocked by this new direction they're taking, figuring the APS-C sensor wouldn't make it to the Pro/Semi-Pro body line.

Makes you wonder what they'll shove in the 1D/1Ds IV though doesn't it ?

Too right. They've got the 7D and the 5D2 and both are very capable cameras in the hands of a pro. I'm no good at predicting what'll be in the next 1-series bodies but a lot of people will hang on to or buy an older 1-series or buy a new 7D or 5D2 rather than jump up to a 1Ds4 or 1D4 because I can't see much happening there. Even better high ISO performance, more MP in the 1D4, what else? More FPS?
