Reading through some of the RC heli forums, I think I've concluded that half the fun of flying model helis is repairing them after a crash.

Boy, they sure do crash a lot. Some don't quite look like a helicopter after the crash...

At least the cost of parts isn't too bad.

Ugh, I missed this until cat quoted...

Very nice!!!

On a more serious note to all.....when showing a client proofs, do you fully edit them all? Or, do you just do a few select ones with the full treatment and leave the rest?

most people suggest proofs to be a quick edits with a few examples of regular edits so that they can choose which photos they want you to work on.

For me, I edit them all. When I get busier though, I won't.

That's what I've been doing...editing about 10 and leaving the rest. But, I'm going to redo my pricing and am thinking of doing a print credit instead of specefic sizes included with a collection. My worry is that with the print credit though, I'll be selling all 5x7s and have to do fully edit more pics just for one print. Make sense.?

And, TERRI!!! You need to get this (external link) for the new dragonling.

I edit them all as well, set up a gallery and load everything so they just pick photos. I do mention their ability to change crops and black and white/sepia images.

Nope I searched it myself and all the candle links error

It's gotta be some kinda strange problem on YouTube, then. I did get that error on one of her videos, but the rest all work for me. Odd...

^^ That.

I save psd's of any photo that I add texture too, or do anything creative, so that if i have to change crop size, I can change it easier and move the texture around.

Thanks Cat. What I usually do is export from LR to PSD and work off the psd. I make a jpeg for my galleries but I don't always fully edit. My normal workflow is blemish/under eye fixes, any cloning BG cleanup, skin smoothing, eye pop, teeth whitening. Then I play. But, I get really tired of healing acne and waiting for my computer to run the skin action. I guess I should get a new computer then.

LOL you know that's the biggest thing I hear from other wedding/portrait photogs. Cloning the same pimples over and over or razor rash or whatever...you really have to love your work to do this. And it's expected. People don't want to see what they do look like. They want to see magic. If you don't do it, they won't buy it and sometimes they cannot "see" it. Invariably if I only do a few photos, those are the ones they like. If I do a bunch usually I get the "I'd like to buy the disk".

My basic edits that all pictures get:

cropping, noise removal (if needed), curves adjusting, contrast, and sharpening.

I do all my photos to finish, print ready. Then I upload them into the client gallery.

Then I go through and pick several of my favorite shots from that shoot, and do 'creative' processing. Textures, funky crops, brushes, BW/sepia/desaturate, writing, collages, etc etc etc.
Then I upload those to the gallery as well, and let the client know that the type of processing is available on any of the shots in the gallery. I charge $10 per shot that they want any special processing on. If they choose any that I've already done, there is no extra charge.

Get on the Zane Hotline, I hear they do emergency 24 hour service. :p

What is Diane up too anyway? Wasn't she doing something with kids?

Don't sell the disk then. ;) :p

I don't always mind. It's just when I have a million things to do and a couple hours a night to do them that I get annoyed. Of course, editing pics like the brunette senior I did was great....I had very little to do and fully edited all but 2 of hers.
