Have fun John. I'm looking forward to your shots.

It turned out to be a bit of a bust today. The ceiling was so low they couldn't fly practice today. On the positive side I was able to take a tour of the race tower and one of the pylon barges. The pylon tour was cool. They took us out by boat and we actually got to go inside one of the pylons while it was inflated.

Oh, I'm not close.. Its a couple states away. Been there twice. Once while I was in H.S. We build the Breezy (external link)as out H.S. aeronautics project. Took two years and the teacher flew it to Oshkosh. We followed along on the ground. The second time my dad and his friend Frizt build a HP-11a (external link). We trailered it up there for the show. It was a week long party, lots of fun. If you look at the bottom of that HP-11 link, that's Fritzy standing next to the plane. Actually that might be one of my pics taken oh so long ago, but not sure. Could have been my dads or someone else as well.

I noticed in the HP-11A link it was shown flying near and landing in Nanpa, Idaho. I was wondering what was up with that because my brother-in-law is the erosion control engineer in Nanpa.

LOL Guys, I said it was not an invitation to visit and post (thanks anyway) I am cool that there were no posts, but I was thinking back a few years when there would have been far more.

The quality of advice has really gone down on here and the quality of debate has also suffered. I am constantly amazed that people defend their, all be it valid, point of view as if it were the only point of view.

I am also amazed when people post "Great pic what were your settings?" (although they do not use the question mark as english grammar and syntax is a thing of the past)

I am determined that if ever I am asked "What were your settings?" I will reply. 125/s f/4.5 ISO 100 and 40 years experience :-)

P.S Do mosquito bites make you grumpy?

P.P.S You are safe the pool thinker is history, but I have yet to show you my thong modeling pic.

Hey! Grumpy is MY job...;)

And that makes me realize that I need to go back to a purple collar for her.
I wonder if I can find the collar style I like in non-hunting colors?

These are the collars we like: http://www.****com …s/center-ring-collar.html (external link)

They don't have holes for the buckle, so it can be sized exactly right. And we like the collars with the center ring. They are made for hunting dogs, so that's why they come in hunting colors.

What's the advantage to the center ring collar? We have one on Buddy that has a plastic buckle backed by nylon so it doesn't rub on his neck and it's infinitely adjustable as well.

Bobert, thank you. There are many insurance companies that will not cover a pit bull because of negligent owners as well. Permie, if you guys come to the East Coast and we're anywhere near my house...and you're willing, I'd really love for you to meet Cinnabar. I'll gladly keep her on leash for you if you'd prefer. Negligent owners....big pet peeve of mine. I won't start my rant because I'm not sure that I can stop.

Heather's parents ran into this same problem a number of years back in Maine. they were trying to rent a place to live and nobody would rent to them because of their dog. Only thing is, the dog's a Brittany Spaniel... It seems as though landlords didn't want to rent to people with pit bulls but if they refused to rent to just those people, they could get charged with housing discrimination. The solution was to refuse to rent to anyone with a dog, no matter what breed.

Sorry you had a bad day, but Yeah on the nachos. My day was not too bad. Dropped Buddy of at Petsmart for a bath and shave, took our friend frocery shopping, went to Trader Joe's for so other things, Then did some other errands and got home aobut 3:30. I have relaxed on the couch and watched some shows that we had recorded.

Yeah, our refrigerator is full of fresh froceries...

Nice thought. :D We're gonna be really, really close to this: http://www.tillamookcheese.com/ (external link) Wisconsin cheese doesn't hold a candle to it. Just saying.

I've been to the Tillamook factory...

kumatron wrote in post #7885921 (external link)
You know, I lived by there too and I'm with Fafa on this one, not even Tillamook beats Wisconsin cheese, it's that good

cfpackerfan wrote in post #7885928 (external link)
As I've never had (fresh) Tillamook or WI cheese, I'll have to have BOTH to make an accurate decision on which is better.

MmmMMm.... cheese.

There's an air museum in Tillamook. Just sayin...

John, the center ring makes it so the collar bends/twists if it gets caught on anything, and the dog can slip out of it rather than getting hung.
We take our dogs out so often to the lake and out in the trees, we do it mainly for safety.

it's also nice to have a place to put the leash other than the ring that the tags are on.

I have a question!!!!!

My daughters graduation is coming up. It's going to be at night, in the school gym. Bright gym lights. Will my 100-400 work okay for that? or is there a better lens in my list? I won't be able to get all that close to the stage, which is why I was thinking the 100-400.

Have you taken pictures in the gym before? What kind of lights are they?
