interesting. I think they (both versions) are terribly slow. The older version was worse but the newer version (to me) hunted in low light almost as badly. It's quieter though.

I'm trying to find a shot at 100mm to the stage so you can get an idea of the distance.

I'll wait for a second but then I'm off to sleepy nigh night.

Great shot Bobert. Makes us XTi kids jealous, wonder how the 20d does at higher iso's.

Thanks Chet. I'm sure the 20D can handle a bit of noise, I wouldn't know how well though since I never owned it. I came up from a Digital Rebel/300D

Thanks Paula. Yep, handheld.

But the one guy handing out the diplomas is fixed, would manual focus work to focus on him?

I remember, not too long after i got my 100 macro, I was shooting a wedding. I wanted to take a photo of the couple's hands on his uniform with his medals and such. It was taking so long to focus that they said they didn't want the shot. Granted, I had just gotten it, and wasn't used to it at all, but it was p a i n f u l l y slow when shooting anything that wasn't stationary.

If you bought anything after the year 2000 it is the new one. The old one was from the 1990's

I think maybe what I will do... is take 3 lens. the 50, 100, and 100-400. than I'll practice on other kids and see what I like! Beth's last name starts with a W so she will be one of the last ones to receive her diploma.:) I know I won't be able to tell a whole lot by chimping, but should be able to tell enough. (I hope)

you know the more I'm around dogs, the more I see what you are saying. Oddly enough lots of dogs seem to be very similar in personality to their owners. It's been so weird to just be an observer...and I'm sure it's not 100% of the time but I really see a trend...timid/afraid people seem to have the same sort of dog (or an aggressive little thing because it's afraid), easily agitated people seem to have dogs with sort fuses...it's just weird. Mean people never seem to have nice dogs...though I've met nice people with some very dominant dogs.

I'm not sure how we ended up with a whacked out crazy lunatic though...

Yeah, its weird. I guess maybe we're more laid back than I thought we were? ;)

Well, maybe all Kona really needs is a tablet.

Speaking of pooches. Bax can jump straight up from a sit almost as high as I am tall, and I mean his hind feet almost come up to eye level.

Wow Becky, that's high! Seriously though Permie, I wonder if Kona needs a creative outlet....aren't there obstacle classes or agility or something for dogs?

That's it....I think I'm gonna end up clicking the button as soon as I get my next reimbursement. The BG-E2N Vertical Grip has been calling my name for months and months.

Bobert, I have a BNIB one if you're interested....I bought it, then found the Opteka version cheaper and had every intention of returning it....it never got returned. Make me a fair offer if you're interested....

Not so bad Bobert, looks like the focus was more at the front of the stage. I liked your other shot better.

I stuck cut up straws under a guys space bar and couple other select keys at work just for kicks, it was entertaining. What's wrong with yours?
