John, the center ring makes it so the collar bends/twists if it gets caught on anything, and the dog can slip out of it rather than getting hung.
We take our dogs out so often to the lake and out in the trees, we do it mainly for safety.

it's also nice to have a place to put the leash other than the ring that the tags are on.

Thanks. I was wondering...

I have a question!!!!!

My daughters graduation is coming up. It's going to be at night, in the school gym. Bright gym lights. Will my 100-400 work okay for that? or is there a better lens in my list? I won't be able to get all that close to the stage, which is why I was thinking the 100-400.

100-400 on a 20D, 3200 ISO and 400mm: This was in an arena rather than a gym so I was a lot farther away.

Great shot Bobert. Makes us XTi kids jealous, wonder how the 20d does at higher iso's.

See above for 20D's noise handling. I sometimes think it's better than the 40D.

If you bought anything after the year 2000 it is the new one. The old one was from the 1990's

My 100-400 is pre-2000... We are talking about the 100-400 here, right?

no need. my alarm wakes me up.... it's just a matter of staying awake!!!! guess if someone texted me or sumpin every 5 minutes for awhile I might stay awake. :lol:

:lol::lol:

Much like me this morning. Alarm went off at 6AM...I snooze it...next time I look at the clock it was 640AM. I turned it off! Luckily I still got the kiddo to school on time and to my appointment. I didn't shave though...but it wasn't really needed. LOL!

waves to Heather :)

and no, we were talking about the age of the macro lenses. The old non-usm macro was 1990 and the new one started in 2000.

I don't think there was an old 100-400. The 100-300L was it's predecessor.
