I figured out where I got the 10th from:

http://www.nationaltrainday.com/2009/events (external link) Missed the note at the bottom that says the 9th.

I thought it was weird that Jon & Wool went to an event today. But I figured it was just different on the left coast. I put it on my calendar for tomorrow a few weeks ago.

Okay, if I ever take my camera out of the car at that place again, it will NOT be at noon on a sunny day, and I WILL use a tripod.. When I was shooting, I saw some great stuff. With 2 or 3 exceptions, Lightroom didn't see things the way I did.:lol:

Random commentary: I got fed up with hoods + Canon's lens caps, and the cheapo center pinch caps didn't hold well, so I ended up with this:

Love it! Might even have to do it!

We do the whole get movies in the mail and exchange them in the store with Blockbuster. Usually Brian and I mutually agree on a movie, other times we just each pick one that we want to see and then we suffer through each others.

Right now I'm suffering through "Day the Earth Stood Still"

It was totally random. We drove across town to a tractor pull that turned out to be a dud event, so we walked around a bit. There was a festival of some kind at a park, and after walking around the booths, we got to the end and there were 3-4 mountain men doing their thing.
I got to spin wool (and he let me keep the piece I spun) and we watched him work a cotton gin and go from cotton flower to spinning it into yarn.

One of the others let Tevin start a fire with flint and charcloth.

And I got to shoot the black powder rifle. :D I actually didn't want to.. I was forced. LOL. It was pretty cool though.
