Okay. I'm going to say something that's probably not going to be well received by all parties, and I'm prepared for the heat. Feel free to disagree.

It seems we have a little bit of a double standard going in this thread right now. We have one group of people who seem to become filled with righteous indignation when certain other members post something perceived as off color, adult, or just inappropriate. The public ostracizing is sometimes palpable.

Then, we have a beloved member post a picture of a flower that bears a striking similarity to a vulva (not a Swedish car), and the tittering and innuendo starts from some of those same people who disapprove of others saying/posting something similar.

We are all adults, and we have to allow that other adults are occasionally going to say or write things that we find distasteful. We have many choices on how to handle those situations, but petulance or mean-spirited sniping is not one of the allowable ones.

If ANY of you think someone needs to be corrected, you can send them a PM and make your feelings known, report the post using the little red triangle, or contact your favorite mod. Please don't take it upon yourselves to be the self-appointed arbiters of good taste, and don't criticize just one person if you're not going to be equal and fair in your judgments.

A lot of this goes way back, so don't bother reading back over the preceding day's posts. This has been cumulative.

I'm going to lunch.

I'm not short. I'm concentrated awesome!

Nice. What's that thing that looks like an inverted funnel?

It's called the "Hot Shop" and is part of the Museum of Glass. They do glass blowing and stuff like that in the base so that is an exhaust for all that goes on in there.

Here is another view of it: (the fuzzy bit at the top opening is actually spikes to prevent birds from roosting there).

I think the An-224 was designed and built to carry the Buran, the Russian space shuttle (which never flew). Kinda like the custom 747 that NASA uses to haul the US space shuttles around...

It was, but has since been chartered for various other oversized loads, both internal and external.

I absolutely agree, and think it needed to be said, thanks Chief.

Teq. . .

That ^^^
Or "Valium" - "Val" for short?

LOL. we sort of have an adopted daughter named Val who might get offended if we named our dog that. But funny!!

Right now we are leaning towards Schätze (it's German for "treasure")

Of course if we do go with that then the papers will say Schätze Von Drache

Amtrak passes are about worthless. Not at all like EURailPass....I debated getting a pass to come to the June thing....but there is no way to make it work.

Yeah, what's with the "segments" thing? I guess this is what happens when you have a government-run railroad...

I do too. I remember being called that as a toddler. (a lot of the elder generation of mom's side that you never met spoke German)

Wow, I feel like I really missed something. I can't imagine what that may be referring to...
