Wonderful, thanks for asking. My oldest daughter graduates next weekend so we've been busy with that. Time goes by so fast.

Oh wow! really?! Congratulations to her!

Thanks, two down and one to go.

I just delivered a print package tonight to the mom of one of the high school seniors that I shot.
She had a 7 week old baby.

We were leaving and Wade said "I can't even imagine that... having one graduating, and one just born? Ga!"

My rewiring job turned out to be one of those weird computer mysteries that I'm not supposed to understand. I had two monitors connected to one computer, and they had been working fine. All I had to do was move the computer from one end of the desk to the other. That meant disconnecting everything, re-routing it, connecting it all back up, and turning it on. It should have take maybe 10 minutes.

Everything went fine until I tried to power up, and the small monitor wouldn't work. I tried everything. I switched ports on the graphics card, swapped cables, and on, and on. Nothing.

I finally decided to try my other monitor that was connected to the Mac Mini in the other office. I carried it in, connected it, and everything worked. The only problem was, since it was just an experiment, I didn't route the cables behind the desk. Instead, I ran them under the front of the desk because it required the least crawling.

Anyway, it was working, so I shut it down, ran the cable behind the desk, carried the 'bad' monitor into the other office, connected it to the Mini, and it worked. Fine. Hmmm.

When I fired up the Mac Pro, only one monitor would work. I tried all the same things I'd done earlier, and nothing worked.

After about an hour of beating my head against the keybord while checking the internet to see if this was a known problem, I was just about ready to give up.

I should mention......the video card in the Mac Pro has a dual-link DVI connector on the back, and a mini-DVI jack for the second monitor. It requires a little adapter to connect a standard DVI cable to the computer, and I learned (strictly by trial and error) that if you disconnect the monitor from the adapter, then reboot the computer, if you reconnect the monitor to the adapter during re-boot, the second monitor works. Fortunately, it seems (so far) that I only had to do that once. When I shut down and restart the computer, it's there.

If you think reading that is giving you a headache, just remember-----I lived through it.

I really don't understand why it worked, or why I even thought to try it. I guess I'd tried everything else at that point (including rubbing chicken fat all over my body), and I was game for anything.

I'm not short. I'm concentrated awesome!
