I have recently bought a Sigma 150 macro, canon 85 1.8 and sigma 30 1.4. Is there any reason to keep my tamron 17-50 and canon 28-135 or sell them, I am not sure if they will get much if any use now that I got these 3 primes.

I got a 17-55mm and thinking of getting rid of my absolute mint condition canon 50mm 1.4. The zooms are so easy to use when walking around taking group photographs.... www.dKweddings.net

Give it some time, like 6 months. You may find you'll be thinking of selling the primes instead of the zooms. Anything is possible. Bohdan - I may be, and probably am, completely wrong.

Apr 24, 2009 20:47 | #5 good idea, guess I just thought I would love the new primes, but who knows, maybe it will not suit my style in the long run. I think I will just give it time and see if I use the zooms or primes or maybe both depending on the situation, thanks for the help. 5D IV, Rokinon 14mm, Zeiss 21mm, Rokinon 24mm 1.4, Canon 24-105L, Speedlight 430EX II

Apr 24, 2009 22:21 | #9 I sold all my zooms except for my 24-70. I use 100, 200, 500, 600 primes and have a 1.4TC and 2xTC. Perfect for me. I will usually only go somewhere with one lens or two at the most. I like the challenge of using what I have with me. Flickr - Life of David

I have all the primes I want right now (though I'll take a 100L or midrange 35 if Canon ever bothers...), but I miss having a standard zoom every now and then.

I got tired of carrying all that stuff and juggling lenses while being jostled around. the IQ and low light losses are made up for by the IS and ability to compose from a stationary position (like a stadium seat). Less gear, less dust, more freedom, more options. 5D, 10D, G10, the required 100 macro, 24-70, 70-200 f/2.8, 300 f2.8)
