I may not be using the correct term b/c when I search for a wireless remote shutter release I just find flash transmitters etc...

I've found a cable release but i'd prefer something wireless... can someone point me in the right direction?

The Phottix Cleaon C8 works well and there are usually a host of Ebay sellers knocking them out at a good price.

The mentioned Cleon C8 remote release works well. The advertised range is 100m - haven't tried it from that far, but it works well up to 30m. I've seen a new model of Cleon on the ebay with a replacable camera connector, so you can use the same release with several different camera bodies.
