So recently I've run into situations where I'd get better results with a flash off the hotshoe. I was considering getting Cactus V2's, but I keep reading that they have issues with the 430ex. Does anyone know if this is a real issue? Are the V4's any better?

At this point I'm considering selling my 430ex and getting a 285HV, umbrella, stand, and wireless triggers, but I think I might having miss an on-camera flash.

have u also looked at the option of purchasing a 580EX as well?

it can be nice to have two flashes working in ettl

although the problem of course is that you can only get one flash off camera (the 430EX)

A 580ex is a bit pricey. I forgot to mention, I have maybe $100 to work with, since I don't have time to save up more.
