I have a Samsung... and one Nividia card. :( lol

But, I do have the Datacolor Spyder3 Elite... but have a feeling I never do it right. Damn thing has too many options that I have no idea what they mean... or should be set at. LOL

I think it was that Datacolor Spyder3 (Elite?) my friend used on my monitor to verify its Auto calibrate function.

As for a warm up, the instructions say the monitor has to be on for 24 hours, after burning in running for a week or more. They also say to redo the function once or twice a year. I am pretty good at setting the control panel of the cards, and hitting the button on the monitor to start the process.

Do you often find that Dell monitor "off" after a month, Jay? I'd hope not.

I calibrate mine a couple time a month. Just cause it says to. I also send it random amounts of money to an off shore account, because it says to.....

Off? Not by much. Different? Yeah, a little each time. Monitors age and will drift. 'Tis natural.

I officially hate my calibrator/monitor. lol

I just recalibrated it. Read all the "Help" things and decided what I needed to do and stuff. It asked about the luminance crap, I was at 170 something, and the target was 120. I had to dim my display to 26, it was at 100. So, I finally get that exactly at the target, and go through the whole motion.

Looked at the picture... looks the exact same.

Maybe I need to buy a new monitor......

Ooooooh... gotcha. Lame.

those are usually the loud obnoxious annoying ones who don't know what they're doing too... :( i guess with canon's new shift in making their dslr kits cheaper & cheaper now there only will be more of them flooding out... :(

So this really was a "Moms With Cameras" fair of some kind?

I'm confused.

So what was this thing at UOP Stadium supposed to be?

A place to bring your kids to get photos taken or some seminar on how to do it?

from what I have heard it is a place to take your kids and then spend too much money on everything after you pay to get in.

It was touted as a big event for kids to come and play. There were to have games, crafts, and some shows.

Turned out that it was just a bunch of everything, from having booths for DirectTV, Wells Fargo, and other things to some booths that were dedicated for kids/families. They did have a "carnival" area in the back with a bounce house and some other things.

I didn't expect it to be that great of a photo op (and it wasn't), so I only brought my cell phone camera. I guess so many of the mom's wanted pictures of their kids with a person in a Dora costume. It just amazed me to see how many moms/dads had DSLR and were using them for something that wasn't much of anything for a photo opportunity.

Imagine trying to take and sell pics of kids sporting events. Everyone has a DSLR with "sports mode".
