You can make anything a white high-key background, but that type of material would be good for a back lit sihloutte portrait. Light the background, and put the model between you and your light. You can also use it to diffuse sunlight in the right area too. I used to hang one over a window directly facing the sun. It gave a beautiful soft light. Website
