Wish I could join you Jay.

I've gone on a strict budget since the Mrs. determined that we need a new house.

Interesting.

I'm guessing she came to this conclusion unilaterally?

Cool! I'll be the one with a Canon... ;)

In other news, we swapped out one of our shower curtain liners today so I wahed the old one and hung on to it hoping that one day I might try blowing a light through it and see if it makes a decent high-key background.

I kinda think the new baby was the driver for this. The new job didn't help either.

I just know that I'd need to put 20% down to get another 30 year mortgage. Prices sure have gone up since we bought our house 8 years ago...

You can make anything a white high-key background, but that type of material would be good for a back lit sihloutte portrait. Light the background, and put the model between you and your light. You can also use it to diffuse sunlight in the right area too. I used to hang one over a window directly facing the sun. It gave a beautiful soft light.

Where are you looking?

I guess the doom and gloom news reports about home prices were wrong?

Thanks for the shower curtain suggestions.

Looking all over the East Valley. Just looking right now at new sub-divisions, but I'm open to previously owned homes. I don't think the Mrs. is keen on that idea, though.

It's funny. Prices really didn't drop a whole lot on new homes. They just threw in some incentives. The place we looked at today, has even upped their prices since we looked at them in June, and they dropped their incentives by $30K. I guess July and August were good months for them.

I'm betting there are some "very lightly used" homes out there.

Of course foreclosures or re-possesions can be a whole bag of spiders with which most folks don't want to deal.

get the off brand one from photomark. was reading from the night club photo thread that that brand (forgot the name) was one of the better ocf cords around and doesn't fall apart as easily as the other. I had one for over 2 years...till I lost it somewhere in downtown Glendale :-(

Not only do the "mrs" get the say ... they get the last and final say! Or they make going to work a really good thing (opposed to staying home with the MRS). That's just my experience, yours may vary. :)
